ETIC_Algarve receives Capicua for “Conversas com Lábia”

Capicua is currently a key figure in the Portuguese music scene and is ETIC_Algarve’s latest guest for the second “Conversas com Lábia” (Smooth-talking Conversations) of 2021, which will take place on March 25, at 4 pm.
This cycle, which aims to “boost inspiration and enlighten thoughts,” consists of sharing experiences and knowledge from leading figures in the Creative Industries in Portugal and “stimulating the creative minds” of students at the Algarve School of Technology, Creation, and Innovation.
Given today’s challenges, and because “knowledge is for sharing,” ETIC_Algarve is opening the event to the general public, believing that “it is essential to build critical mass and also because an informed society is necessarily a better society, especially in times when misinformation is increasingly widespread.”
This second “Conversas com Lábia” event of 2021 will feature Capicua talking about “Retrospectives and Crossroads.” It will be an online event, it’s free, but with very limited places available.
Capicua was born in Porto in the 80s, discovered Hip Hop culture in the 90s and became a Rapper in the 00s.
A sociologist by training, she is known for her exquisite, emotive, and politically engaged writing. With an extensive discography, she already has a solid track record in the Portuguese-speaking music scene: two mixtapes, three albums under her own name, and a remix album, a children’s book-album in partnership with Pedro Geraldes, a Portuguese-Brazilian collective album, and a live EP.
Over the last decade, he has performed numerous concerts, winning over a diverse audience and critical acclaim, collaborating with various Portuguese-speaking artists, and participating in numerous conferences, workshops, and social projects. Also noteworthy is his acclaimed career as a lyricist and his work as a columnist for Visão magazine.
This session of Conversas com Lábia is aimed at ETIC_Algarve graduates, but is also open to the general public.
