The festival&#8217;s mission is to <strong>promote vegan cinema and veganism<\/strong> through works that combine <strong>cinema and activism<\/strong> in defense of <strong>animal rights<\/strong> and in <strong>solidarity with the global animal liberation movement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>It is in this context of <strong>art with purpose<\/strong> that the film <strong>Fais\u00e3o<\/strong> stood out for its <strong>symbolic, aesthetic, and emotional approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A powerful metaphor about femininity and freedom<\/h2>\n\n<p>The short film <strong>\u201cFais\u00e3o\u201d<\/strong> uses the metaphor <strong>\u201cpheasant hunting\u201d<\/strong> to relate the <strong>female figure<\/strong> to the predestined life of a pheasant, an <strong>exotic bird admired for its beauty<\/strong> but <strong>constantly hunted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The narrative is constructed as an <strong>allegory for the silent and systematic abuse<\/strong> that so many women face around the world. Like the pheasant, the protagonist lives an existence marked by e<strong>xploitation and pain<\/strong>, masked by a charming appearance.<\/p>\n\n<p>By resorting to this poetic figure, <strong>Beatriz Silvestre<\/strong> creates a <strong>visual, symbolic, and deeply emotional work<\/strong> that <strong>denounces historical injustice<\/strong> and gives it form through <strong>cinematic language<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<noscript class=\"loading-lazy\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"805\" height=\"451\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eticalgarve.com\/files\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Faisao.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8962\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eticalgarve.com\/files\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Faisao.jpg 805w, https:\/\/www.eticalgarve.com\/files\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Faisao-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eticalgarve.com\/files\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Faisao-768x430.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/noscript>\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A journey that has already earned international recognition<\/h2>\n\n<p>Before its recognition in Greece, the <strong>film Fais\u00e3o<\/strong> had already been <strong>screened in the United Kingdom<\/strong> as part of the <strong>First Frame Film Festival<\/strong>, an international university film festival organized by <strong>Leicester University.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>On this occasion, the film&#8217;s protagonist, <strong>Nicole Ribeiro<\/strong>, was <strong>awarded the Best Actress prize<\/strong>, reinforcing the <strong>impact and artistic quality<\/strong> of this production created at <strong>ETIC_Algarve.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project born in the classroom<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>film Fais\u00e3o<\/strong> was created as part of the<strong> Final Project module in the first year<\/strong>, an essential phase in the <strong>Technical Courses at ETIC_Algarve<\/strong>, where students <strong>apply all the technical and creative tools acquired<\/strong> throughout the course, developing <strong>a real project<\/strong> that consolidates their training.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>direction, production, scriptwriting, and editing<\/strong> were led by <strong>Beatriz Silvestre,<\/strong> who was assisted by <strong>a team of colleagues from the Technical Course in Film and TV Production.<\/strong> The group demonstrated not only excellent <strong>teamwork skills<\/strong>, but also the <strong>maturity and competence necessary<\/strong> to coordinate <strong>film shooting, production, and post-production teams.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The collaboration also extended to <strong>Myllena Ferreira<\/strong>, from the <strong>Communication and Multimedia Design Course<\/strong>, who was responsible for <strong>creating the poster for the short film<\/strong>. This joint effort reflects the <strong>multidisciplinary spirit of ETIC_Algarve<\/strong>, where students are encouraged to <strong>cross creative boundaries<\/strong>, collaborating between courses and <strong>enriching their projects with different perspectives and skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe success of the short film Fais\u00e3o reflects the talent, dedication, and vision of our graduates.
