Um projeto sem rótulos que nasce da liberdade criativa

“Free from labels or musical genres, and driven by the sheer joy of creativity, Um Dia Destes brings together three friends who communicate through sound.”

That’s how the band presents itself. And that’s also how you experience their music.

Comprising musicians who have worked together on projects such as Neon Noir and Zebra Sépia, they decided to form Um Dia Destes with a clear aim: to create instrumental experiences that take the audience on a wide-ranging sonic journey, where anything is possible.

Their influences span a range of musical genres, from rock to jazz, classical to indie, and including metal and fusion. Among the artists who have shaped the project, names such as Go Go Penguin and Mammal Hands stand out.

Who are Um Dia Destes?

The band consists of three musicians who express themselves through sound and the creative freedom that defines this project.

Band members:

  • André Pereira on bass
  • João Vila Nova on the piano
  • José Carmo on drums

A growing career and a new album to discover

The band performed to the public in March 2025 at the Marginália Association’s Battle of the Bands in Portimão, where they were given a warm reception. Since then, they have played at various venues, including Lota Cool Market, FATACIL and Clube União Portimonense.

More recently, she released her first single, ‘Pangeia’, featuring a special guest appearance by musician Luís Mira on the accordion, on 15 March 2026. In early April, her debut album, ‘Ano Zero’, recorded and mixed by Nuno Gonçalves at Pigeons Nest Recordings, will also be released.

This Live InSight will be a unique opportunity to experience this new chapter live.

A return to ETIC_Algarve with special significance

This concert takes on even greater significance with the presence of José Carmo, the band’s drummer and a graduate of the ETIC_Algarve Sound Engineering Course 17|

Having once attended the school as a student, he now returns to the stage as a musician, bringing one chapter to a close and beginning another. For the current students, he is a real-life example of a career path and concrete proof of how education links up with the professional world.

Another perspective on teaching in practice

Live InSight is more than just a concert. It is a genuine learning experience.

As in every edition, the students at ETIC Algarve play an active role in organising the event.

Course in Music Composition, Production and Sound Techniques

Responsible for setting up the venue, technical operations and live sound recording.

Professional Photography Course and Film, Cinema and TV Production Course

Responsible for capturing images through photography and video, recording the entire concert.

It is at this intersection of art, technique and practice that true learning takes place. Outside the classroom, but within the realities of the workplace.
