Out of The Box – ETIC_Algarve’s Creative Event

What is Out of The Box?

Out of The Box is ETIC_Algarve’s major end-of-academic-year event, and this year it takes on even greater significance as it marks the school’s 15th anniversary and its contribution to nurturing talent in the creative industries in the Algarve.

From 3 to 17 July, IPDJ Faro will be transformed into a space dedicated to creativity, culture and innovation. Over the course of two weeks, the event will bring together various artistic and digital disciplines in an atmosphere of sharing, experimentation and inspiration.

Much more than just an academic exhibition, Out of The Box is a creative experience open to the community, where visitors, professionals and anyone with an interest can discover projects, meet new talent and explore the world of the creative industries. The event reflects the evolution and impact of ETIC_Algarve over the last 15 years, fostering links between creativity, education and the market.

Creative Exhibitions in the Fields of Design, Photography, Animation and Video Games

The exhibitions will be one of the main highlights of Out of The Box, showcasing projects developed by ETIC_Algarve graduates in the following areas:

• Design
• Photography
• Animation and Video Games

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to discover creative works that explore different visual languages, concepts, techniques and creative processes.

Each project embodies the creativity, innovation and experimentation that have developed over the course of ETIC_Algarve’s 15-year history, reflecting the talent and potential of the Algarve’s new creative generations.

Creative Workshops and Hands-on Experiences

Out of The Box will also feature workshops dedicated to the various training areas offered by ETIC_Algarve, providing practical and interactive experiences for all participants.

These activities have been designed to stimulate creativity, encourage experimentation and enable participants to explore different creative tools and methodologies.

Sunset Talks with Special Guests from the Creative Industries

The Out of The Box talks will feature special guests, yet to be announced, who will discuss relevant topics related to the creative and digital industries.

Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in inspiring discussions on creativity, communication, innovation, digital culture, careers, artistic production and creative trends.

The sunset talks aim to give students and the public an insight into the professional world of the creative industries, creating opportunities for sharing, inspiration and reflection.

Cinema and Live Concerts

Out of The Box will also be a space dedicated to culture, entertainment and the artistic experience.

Cinema

The film screenings will showcase projects created by students on the Film and TV Production course at ETIC_Algarve, giving the audience the chance to experience a variety of narratives, styles and audiovisual approaches.

Concerts

The live concerts will feature students from the Sound and Music area in the courses of Musical Composition, Sound Production and Techniques, and Electronic Music Production and Composition, creating moments of energy, performance and musical experimentation.

Speed Hunting – Where Talent and Corporations Meet

One of the standout features of Out of The Box will be Speed Hunting, an initiative inspired by the concept of speed dating, but designed for professional networking.

During this event, businesses from the Algarve business community will have the opportunity to meet ETIC_Algarve students through brief presentations of their CVs, portfolios and creative projects.

The aim is to create real opportunities for:

• networking
• collaboration
• internship
• recruitment
• professional integration

Speed Hunting aims to bring new creative talent closer to the job market and foster links between education and industry.

15 Years of Creative Thinking Outside the Box

Out of The Box represents the creative journey undertaken by ETIC_Algarve over the course of its 15 years of existence.

More than just an event, this is a celebration of creativity, culture, experimentation and the new generation of creative talents who continue to transform the Algarve through the creative and digital industries.

For two weeks, talent steps out of the shadows and takes centre stage in the heart of Faro.
