A Cidade Velha

Municipal Market of Faro

In the heart of the city of Faro, this whitewashed building is one of the best places to learn about local customs. Treat yourself to the huge variety of traditional products on display – such as fish, meat, olives, fruit or corn.

Barra de São Luís (Barrinha)

An area without construction, where you can see the beauty of the dunes, the flora and the numerous birds that seek refuge and food here. Wind and waves are always changing the coastline. It is accessible on foot, from Faro Beach, via a wooden walkway, or by boat.

Estoi Palace

Its construction began around 1840 but was only completed in 1909. The buildings are exceptionally beautiful and combine neoclassical and rococo styles. It is also worth visiting the gardens, in French style, with fruit trees and palm trees, fountains and sculptures. The palace functions as a “charming inn”.
