Do ETIC_Algarve Technical Courses award an academic degree?

ETIC_Algarve Technical Courses do not award an academic degree. The school is managed by Giz, We Can Train You, a training entity certified by DGERT (Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations), which guarantees the quality of the technical and practical training provided.However, students who successfully complete a 2-year Technical Course may apply for Progression of Studies and undertake a third curricular year at a partner European university, thereby obtaining an Advanced Level Certified Qualification.

Does ETIC_Algarve have Technical Courses in post-work hours?

Yes. There are Technical Courses available on a post-work basis, with times between 7pm and 10pm/11pm.

Does ETIC_Algarve offer support such as scholarships?

Yes. ETIC_Algarve offers a Training Grant for students enrolled in a Technical Course who meet the conditions set out in specific regulations, which can be requested from the school office. This grant is awarded in exchange for one year of study and part-time work at the school in the form of an internship.

Does ETIC_Algarve Technical Courses include internships?

Yes. The 2-year Technical Courses include a curricular internship lasting 480 hours. The 1-year Technical Courses allow optional application for the JUMP – Professional Integration Support extracurricular internship program, lasting 320 hours.

How can I apply for the Training Grant?

Applications for the Training Grant open on June 1st. The form must be requested from the ETIC_Algarve secretariat.

How does the application process work?
-
The application is made online, on the page of the course of interest. After pre-registration, an interview with the Pedagogical Director will be scheduled. If the trainee is approved, they advance with formal registration with the secretariat.

How long is an Erasmus+ Internship?

The duration of Erasmus+ internships ranges from 3 to 6 months. Final-year students of 1-year Technical or Specialization Courses may apply for 3-month internships. Final-year trainees of 2-year Technical Courses may apply for internships lasting 3 or 6 months.

Is it necessary to complete the 12th grade to apply for a Technical Course at ETIC_Algarve?

It is not mandatory to have the 12th grade to attend a Technical Course. However, to carry out a Study Progression, it is necessary to have completed the 12th year.

What is Academic Progression?

Academic Progression is a third academic year that can be taken at one of ETIC_Algarve’s six partner schools in Portugal or Europe after completing a two-year technical course. It allows students to obtain a valuable and internationally recognised certification.

What is an Erasmus+ Scholarship and how can I apply?
-
Upon completion of a course at ETIC_Algarve, trainees can apply for an Erasmus+ Internship Grant through an annually launched Creative Challenge. With the scholarship approved, the trainee undertakes an international internship at a company in Europe. The grant includes support for accommodation, travel, pocket money, online language course, insurance and local transport.
