Live InSight with L.a.r fills ETIC_Algarve with energy and closeness

There are concerts that you listen to.
And there are concerts that you feel.

On February 3rd, ETIC Algarve once again opened its doors to Live InSight, transforming the school into a small, intimate venue full of intention. At 5 pm, with around 30 people in the audience who had come specifically to be there, the band L.a.r took to the stage and it took just a few seconds for the energy to take over the studio.

From the very first moment, the audience was thrilled. There was no time to warm up, no distance to create. There was presence. And there was that rare feeling of being really close to the music, close to the sound, the voice, the beat and even the silence between the notes.

Who are L.a.r and why was this concert different?

L.a.r define themselves as a group of introverts driven by the search for expression. And that is exactly what was felt on stage. A band that is not there to follow a formula, but to explore, take risks and grow with each song.

What began as an instrumental band took on a new dimension when Miriam Evaristo joined as vocalist. In this Live InSight, the voice was more than just part of the sound. It was the guiding thread, tension and release, in constant dialogue with the guitar, bass, drums and percussion.

Formation of the band

  • Gonçalo Santos – guitar
  • Sofia Shramko – bass
  • Tomé Cabrita – drums and percussion
  • Miriam Evaristo – vocals

A meaningful homecoming

This concert was also a homecoming.

Guitarist Gonçalo Santos, a former student at ETIC Algarve on the Music Creation, Production and Sound Techniques course, had already experienced Live InSight from the other side. He experienced it as a student, in a classroom context, learning within the real dynamics of a live event. Now he has returned as a musician and given back to the school and its students exactly what the experience gave him: stage time, high standards and real-world practice.

Another perspective on teaching outside the classroom

Live InSight is never just a concert. It is a cultural moment for the community and also a real learning experience. It offers a different perspective on teaching, where trainees take responsibility, work as a team and make things happen, just like in the creative industries job market.

And in this concert, this could be seen and heard in every detail.

Course in Music Creation, Production and Sound Techniques

They were responsible for all the technical aspects of the concert. They took on roles as sound engineers, set up the venue and recorded the live sound.

Professional Photography Course and Film and Television Production Course

These trainees captured images in photographs and videos, recording the energy of the moment and the intensity of a concert experienced so closely.

There was music on stage and there was production, technique and vision behind the scenes. All at the same time. All real.

The full video is coming soon, but you can already feel the energy.

We will soon publish the full video of the concert.
Until then, you can soak up some of the energy of this Live InSight and see the hard work and dedication of our trainees in the video below.
