Luís Rocha
Sound & Music Trainer
Born in 1977 in Loulé, Luís Rocha developed a strong connection to music from an early age, beginning his career as a guitarist in various bands playing both original songs and covers. This experience gave him close contact with the world of entertainment and sparked his interest in the technical and creative aspects of audio.
After several years working as a graphic designer, he decided to switch his career path to the audio sector, a field to which he then devoted himself professionally.
Since 2013, he has been working in the fields of sound engineering, production and technical direction for shows, collaborating with national and international bands and musical projects. That same year, he realised a long-held ambition by setting up, in partnership with a colleague, an audio studio in Faro, specialising in recording, sound capture, music production, voice-over work and other sound production services.
A trainer certified by the IEFP, he has been working with ETIC_Algarve since the institution’s first year, where he teaches courses in Studio Techniques, Audio Editing and Recording, and Live Sound, combining his teaching skills with the experience he has gained in a professional context.
Throughout his career, he has combined studio work with sound engineering for live shows and technical direction of productions, whilst remaining actively involved in the audio sector. He currently continues to work on sound production projects and to take part in international tours with the band Hybrid Theory.
Alongside his technical and teaching work, he maintains an active connection with musical creation. His return to the guitar gave rise to *Canção do Menino Triste*, an instrumental and ambient music project that explores the relationship between the guitar, cinema and soundscapes, creating musical atmospheres that invite contemplation and a sensory journey.
