Weiner Oliveira

Weiner Oliveira is a programmer who has never separated technical skills from creativity. He began his academic journey in Art and Design, studying both drawing and art history, and only later graduated in Information Systems and completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science, specialising in Software Engineering and data analysis and visualisation. Away from his computer screen, he maintains a passion for drawing and games – both digital and analogue – and studies and develops indie games.

Between 2012 and 2016, he worked at the Federal Institute of Education in Brazil, where he progressed from an intern to a tutoring co-ordinator and then to a lecturer on technical courses. It was there that he discovered a passion for teaching and for supporting learners on their educational journey.

Since 2017, he has built a career spanning more than 8 years in backend development using Python, working for companies in the telecoms, financial services, web3 and energy sectors in Brazil, England and Portugal, where he has lived since 2022. He has held roles as a tech lead and product lead, guiding teams and promoting best practices such as automated testing, semantic versioning and the automation of integration and delivery processes. He works daily with serverless and microservices architectures in cloud environments, and has also developed artificial intelligence solutions using LangChain. He is currently a Python consultant at a multinational technology company.

He is a trainer at ETIC_Algarve specialising in Cloud Native DevOps, where he combines his experience of real-world projects with his teaching experience, focusing on automation, software quality and building scalable systems in the cloud.
